Here are my recommendations in order of price - from low to high. If you are just starting out and need something to practice on, go for one of these lower-priced models.
Price range: $500 to $1,500
This is a great kit if you are just starting out and need a "practice" drone to get more stick time.
Get this kit if you want to add more flight time to your DJI Mini 3.
Level up from the DJI Mini 3 to the Mini 4 Pro for more advanced obstacle avoidance and a better camera. This model also adds the RC 2 Controller, which includes a screen in the controller. Be sure to add a Sun Hood (see my "Drone Accessories" kit) so you can see the screen better in bright sun.
The DJI Air series is a step up from the Mini series, giving you a better camera. However, keep in mind that, unlike the Mini, which weighs in at 249 grams, the DJI Air weighs more and must be registered - even if you only flying as a recreational pilot.
The latest member of the DJI Air family, the Air 3 upgrades you to a wide-angle and telephoto camera plus better flight time versus the Air 2S.
The latest member of the DJI Air family, the Air 3 upgrades you to both a wide-angle and telephoto camera better flight time versus the Air 2S. Be sure to add a Sun Hood (see my "Drone Accessories" kit) so you can see the screen better in bright sun.
